We decided to go strawberry picking with the boys just like LAST YEAR. I’m not so sure it was as much fun…I was getting over being really sick and it was really hot and muddy. We got some yummy strawberries so I can’t complain too much. ๐
Heading out to go picking:

Notice Matthew eating a berry:
He actually ate a lot less this year. Remember LAST YEAR? LOL
I call this the “We are NEVER coming back again” look:
Happy Father’s Day!
After strawberry picking, we stopped at my parent’s house to drop off some Father’s Day cards and some fruit.
I had to take the annual Father’s Day picture, of course!
Celebrating Father’s Day with Mike’s family…
Since Matthew’s birthday was the day before, we also had a little birthday celebration. Checking out the cool presents:
Playing Play Doh with Grandma:
Ian playing with the water guns:
Checking out the…um…I have no idea what these are called. 4-wheeler? LOL
Mike and his dad, hanging out:
Hi, Grandpa!
Can you BELIEVE my baby guy is 3!?!?!
THE BIRTHDAY
We don’t really throw big birthday parties each year so we celebrated Matthew’s birthday by going out to lunch to his favorite restaurant: Olive Garden. Afterward, we went home to eat cake and ice cream and open presents.
I took a lot of pictures so enjoy!!!
Practicing “3” with his fingers:
With Mommy and Daddy:
Aunt Rachel came along for the ride:
The cake:
I felt terrible for not being able to make him a cake as I have in the past so I asked Mike to get the coolest, most awesome cake design they had. Matthew was in LOVE with the cake. LOL
Mr. Birthday Boy had a hard time staying out of the icing. By the time we got around to cutting the cake, the entire front side was licked clean and the cake was visible. LOL
Checking it out a little closer:
Pretty excited about the Thomas sitting on top:
Getting to blow out his candle:
I LOVE this picture of him:
Deep breath!
BLOW!
Singing to him:

THE PEDIATRICIAN:
Mike took Matthew to the pediatrician for his appointment because I had a work meeting I couldn’t reschedule. Thankfully, the appointment was fairly uneventful.
Matthew’s measurements:
Height: 38.46″ (76th percentile)
Weight: 32lbs 10oz (62nd percentile)
BMI: Normal/15.5 (32nd percentile)
We go back again when he turns 4!!!
On the Disney front, I’m really hoping he grows an inch or two so that he’s above 40″. There are several rides with a 40″ requirement that I think he’d like. If he can’t ride, I think we’ll all skip those rides because I don’t want him to feel left out. Obviously, if he can go on them too it would be a lot easier. Grow baby, grow!
THE PHOTOSHOOT
For the first time in my parenting career, I didn’t take my child to have pictures done for his birthday. But!!! I did schedule a family photo shoot while we’re in Indianapolis and asked the photographers to maybe get a few of Matthew by himself. We’ll see if we get any “I’m 3!!!” photos from our session. ๐
Pre-K graduation wasn’t so much a handing off of the diploma stuffy affair. It was more a concert highlighting all the cool things the kids learned during the year.
Kids walking into the classroom for the concert:
Ian stood in the back row, third from the left.
Ian’s teacher saying a few words at the start:
Let the singing begin:
Ian had a speaking part! “In December, we learned about winter holidays and celebrated Christmas. Our next song is ‘Santa’!”
That’s the Principal standing in the doorway in the shirt and tie.
Singing the song for the moms. ๐
Ian gave Mike a shout out (“that’s you, Dad!”):
We had some technical difficulties (read: memory card was full) and had to do a quick camera switch at the start so we missed the start of the first song. But here is the video….and yes, Ian bowed after every single song. LOL
After the concert….
Ian taking a break with his BFF Jason and his teacher:
I framed this picture for his teacher as a thank you gift:
I can’t believe my baby is off to Kindergarten!
I want to go on vacation with these people! LOL
