I think Ian might have a loose tooth so I got him a tooth fairy pillow from Erin at My Lil Butterfly.
The pillow has a pocket on the back for Ian’s tooth so the tooth fairy doesn’t have to dig around under his pillow while he’s sleeping. The tooth fairy appreciates having an easier way to retrieve teeth and leave cash, as you can imagine. π
I picked green since it’s Ian’s favorite color. The pillow turned out awesome and is so cute. I highly recommend Erin and My Lil Butterfly.
On July 1st, Ian had his last tball game for the season.
Posing for me, before the game:
His first at-bat of the game:
Safe at first (Mike was the 1st base coach):
Getting ready to run home:
Prepping for his second at-bat:
It’s a hit:
(The ball is right where the metal fence poles cross near the green shirt dude’s left shoulder.)
Playing in the dirt:
Ready to make a play:

Papaw and Matthew again:
Ian on deck for his last at-bat:
Going in:
Last at-bat:
He hit it!
He was the last batter for the inning so he got to end his first season by getting a “home run” (they let the last batter of each inning run all the bases):
Potty break!
Post-game huddle:
“GO REDSOX!!!”
Team picture:
Front row: Jacob, Vincent Z., Vincent I.
Back row: Thomas, Ian, Alexander, Matthew, Luke
Throwing their hats in the air in celebration:
The boys tackling Coach after a short chase around the field:
Coach telling the boys how proud he was and what a good job they did:
And the Holy Grail of tball season, the snack shack token distribution:
We missed the big, end-of-season party with the rest of the team because we were on vacation in Indiana. Ian’s coach was kind enough to stop over at our house to give Ian his trophy in person. Ian was BEYOND excited to have a trophy and promptly put it in a place of honor on his dresser. π
For some random reason, my employer designated the Friday before the 4th of July as a holiday. I decided to embrace the day off and take the boys cherry picking. Mom and Dad came along for the adventure. π
Lots o’ cherries:
Low hanging cherry tree branches were handy for allowing Ian and Matthew to pick fruit without assistance. Not so handy when passing underneath and you bonk your head.
The fruits of our labors:
Taking a rest in the shade at a picnic table….not sure why Matthew appears to be alarmed:
Mom and Dad with the boys:
I think I requested a “fish lips” pose:
“Fish lips” poses are pretty funny:
Based upon the fact that they’re leaning and the sign isn’t flush with the ground, I’m going to say Ian is definitely over 4′ tall:
Matthew playing on the wooden train:
(The slide behind Matthew is where Ian broke his finger back in September.)
Ian playing with other boys on the pirate ship:
At the end of June, Mike played in the Gus Macker tournament so we all packed up to go watch him play. The morning was a little cool and rain was forecasted so we all bundled up a bit.
Matthew waiting for the game to start and doing some damage to a box of Tim Bits:
Papaw and Matthew went for a walk to check the score of Mike’s game:
About 30 seconds after this picture was taken, there was a huge brawl between a ref from another court and some random guy walking by. The cops even made an appearance. π
Posing with a buffalo statue:
After nap time, we headed to Ian’s tball game. Despite the cool and overcast start to the day, the afternoon was extremely sunny and warm.
Matthew hanging out in the dugout with the brother of Ian’s teammate:
I call this series the “Lonely Siblings Club”.
Despite the wide range of ages, Matthew and the siblings of Ian’s teammates all played together during the games. Since it got so hot on this day, they played in the shade created by the parent’s lawn chairs. LOL
Since it was so hot, we stopped for ice cream after the game:
