We decided to take the boys to Rochester to play at Strong Museum. We have a family membership to the museum so we like to go several times a year. Yesterday was supposed to be super hot so we figured spending the day in the A/C in the car and in the museum was a good idea.

For the first time in a loooong time, we got tickets to go into the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden. Matthew loves “butt-byes” so we figured he’d really enjoy it. All of his previous visits to the Butterfly Garden had been as a newborn so it was a brand new experience for him.

I went in with him and was a little afraid my headstrong, independent, I-don’t-want-to-hold-hands, run-away-as-fast-as-I-can little guy would be a problem but he did REALLY awesome. He was absolutely fascinated. The other people in the garden really seemed to get a kick out of his reactions to everything he was seeing.

It’s kind of easy to miss some butterflies. This one blends in with the leaves:

After we left the Butterfly Garden, the boys were busy doing regular museum playing.
