The next two days were mostly filled with hours of driving….

After days of forecasted rain storms, our luck finally ended.  It was raining cats and dogs while we packed up the car.

Matthew was joining us as his alter ego:  Pirate Captain Matthew.

We weren’t a mile into our drive back home when we pulled up next to this truck sporting NY plates and a license plate frame from a car dealer about 15 minutes from our house.  Sing it with me:  “it’s a small world after all!”

Matthew really got into coloring on our trip back home.  This was nice to see since he used to fight whenever his preK homework had any coloring on it.

Soon Pirate Captain Matthew was back…this time with his green wig. 😉

Outside of DC, we saw this helicopter doing some sort of rescue/training/hauling/I-don’t-know-what-but-it-made-traffic-come-to-a-stop-to-watch.

After we checked into our hotel in Altoona, PA, we walked over to Champs for dinner.

More coloring in the hotel room.  His coloring book was from the Wright Brothers Memorial gift shop and had tons of pictures of planes inside.

Willingly coloring AND staying inside the lines?  Be still my heart.  LOL

The next morning, the boys sported their new Washington Nationals shirts that Mike got them from the game he attended in DC.  Ian called his shirt his “Walgreens” shirt.  Wrong “W”, buddy.  LOL

This boy exclaimed “These are frickin’ awesome!” when handed a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos at a gas station.  LOL  (We then had to have a talk about “frickin'” being an adult word.)

ALMOST HOME!!!!!!

Did they run inside to potty or find their favorite toys when arriving home?  Nope, they ran for their golf clubs.  LOL

(or perhaps the golf clubs ARE their favorite toys?)

The reunion with Jellybean was pretty sweet.  Although, Beans was scared out of his brains.  LOL

And that concludes our summer vacation pictures!  I hope you enjoyed them!
