We signed Ian up for Little League t-ball this summer. My big boy will be playing for the Red Sox. 🙂 Two weeks ago, we had his first (and possibly, only) practice.

(Since his first practice, it’s pretty much rained or snowed every single day. His second practice was canceled and intended to be reschedule this week. Unfortunately, it’s been raining or snowing all week so it didn’t happen. His last practice is scheduled for this coming Saturday but it’s not looking likely either. His first game is on the 30th so we’re running out of time.)

Ian’s coach spent some time talking to the boys about the two rules to t-ball.

Rule #1: No one swings a bat unless Coach hands them a bat.
Rule #2: No one throws a ball unless the other person is looking at them.

(Yes, I was snapping pictures while filming this video. Also, please don’t judge too harshly about the “Hey! Watch it!” thing at 2:30 when Ian gets hit by the ball. It’s kinda hard to control what comes out of a 5 year old’s mouth.)

Did anyone else listen to the videos and think Ian’s coach sounds like Mike O’Malley? LOL

On a related note:
While I knew Mike wouldn’t really care that Ian’s playing for the Red Sox, I’ve been completely shocked at how much he’s embraced it. Mike is a die-hard Yankees fan but he really is a baseball lover, in general. He’s so excited and proud of Ian for playing t-ball that he literally doesn’t care that Ian is playing for the Red Sox. 🙂

Ian got his team’s Red Sox cap about a week ago and has worn it constantly. Matthew and Ian have been fighting over it so last weekend we bought Matthew his very own Red Sox cap. While we were out, Mike GOT HIMSELF A RED SOX TSHIRT to wear to Ian’s games. WHAT?!?!? Shut the front door!!!! LOL
