I’m probably the only person in WNY who was wishing for rain this past weekend. The boys have all sorts of new rain gear (boots, coats, an umbrella for Ian) that has been collecting dust. I’ve been really impatient to use it all so I was hoping for a few rain showers.

Ok, the real truth is, I have a photo in my head that I want to take…but I need it to be rainy. And, on a day I’m actually at home, thankyouverymuch. So far it seems like it’s only been rainy on weekdays…particularly days that Ian has preschool and can’t do the whole “rain gear” thing.

Soooooo, I was pretty excited when it started raining on Monday morning. I think it stopped raining within 30 minutes but I still got the boys into their rain finery.

Of course, we were running late that morning (Sass insists on pooping EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. as we’re about to walk out the door) so all I got was this bad snapshot. I literally took the picture without my glasses on and couldn’t tell if I got anything worth keeping. LOL (Mom took better pictures but I haven’t gotten them yet.)

I bought Matthew a fireman-themed raincoat but it’s approximately 300 sizes too big. The good news is, I bought the baby blue raincoat for Ian from a garage sale when he was a baby and he never wore it. It fits Matthew really well so he’ll get some use out of it this year. Hopefully Matthew will fit in the fireman coat next year!

Funny story:
By the time we left the house, the rain had stopped and the sun was out. While we were sitting at the light to get out of the neighborhood, I told Ian to look for rainbows.

Me: Do you know what rainbows are? Sometimes they come out with the sun after it’s been really rainy. Ian, do you see any rainbows?

Ian: Yeah!

Me: (looking around the sky while driving to moms) Where do you see a rainbow?

Ian: In my boots!!! (His boots are lined with rainbow stripes/similar to his umbrella)

Me: No!!! Do you see any in the sky?

Ian: Mommy, I DON’T SEE BOOTS IN THE SKY!!!!!!

I laughed so hard about that!
