It was made official at some point back in May: Buffalo experienced the wettest spring on record. That’s over 140 years of weather records, my friends!
Even in relatively dry weather, we can have issues with standing water in our backyard due to some low spots with bad drainage. So how did it fair during the rainiest spring ever?!?!? Our backyard was an absolute swamp!!!!
On the last Thursday of May, I went to meet my training group for our weekly run in preparation for my 5K race in June. As soon as we started to run, it began raining. I don’t think it had been raining longer than 30 seconds before it started pouring buckets of rain. It was INSANE.
When the lightening started about 2 minutes into our run, the coaches called the training session and sent us all home. We literally only managed to run long enough to get completely soaking wet. By the time I got home, the lightening had stopped and the boys were primed to play in the rain.
Here are some videos of them playing in our little swamp.
It probably comes as no surprise when I tell you we now have some spots in that yard where the grass isn’t growing. Whoops! 😉
The Thursday before Nick and Rachel’s wedding, we all headed to Tuxedo Junction to pick up the tuxes for the wedding. Us and about 900 other guys from WNY. It was insanely busy so we spent a lot of time waiting in line and waiting for our turn.
The guys waiting:
Thank you, Jesus, for iPhones.
Sitting on the edge of a display:
Making faces at himself in the mirror:
Hanging out with Papaw:
Papaw doesn’t seem too amused. Probably because we were approaching an hour of waiting and it was roughly 175 degrees in the store.
And the guys in their tuxes…
