So, as I mentioned in the last post, Ian L-O-V-E-D his new doll stroller. Too funny because that was the one thing I really struggled over buying. I wanted to get it for him but I wasn’t sure how it would go over….plus, its BRIGHT PINK….plus, its kinda girly and I was worried how some people would react to him having a “girls toy”.
I decided to throw caution to the wind and just go with it. I think it paid off. Ian literally loves this thing. I mean, its not a truck…but its pretty darn close. Sometimes he even takes the baby doll out and drives his cars around. 🙂
On Sunday, Ian ran around the living room, dining room and kitchen prob for 10 mins before I got the camera out and another 5-10 mins after I stopped taping. Any surprise he took a 3 hour nap on Sunday?!?!?
Here is some video of him enjoying the stroller on Easter. (Please excuse my extreme dorkiness.)
By the way, I showed Ian the video last night and he just laughed and laughed at himself (“duh bee-bee”).
Enjoy!

Easter morning, Ian slept in till almost 8am. Mike and I were actually sitting around watching TV waiting for him to wake up. This might not sound like a big deal but you have to understand that its rare for Ian to sleep past 6:30am. 🙂
Since Ian needed my help getting down the stairs and starting the egg hunt, I only have pictures about mid-way through. And, due to perfect timing, my memory card was full so I could only take 3 pictures.
So, here’s what I have from Easter:
We weren’t sure how well he’d understand the whole egg hunt process so we left the eggs out in the open. He did really great and sometimes needed help finding the ones were a little more hidden…
When Ian got down to the living room, he put the basket on the coffee table…he brought all the eggs TO the basket:
Easter basket…took him forever to “find” it because he was so focused on the eggs. He was literally standing next to it before he realized what he was looking at. This was the moment when he finally noticed it for the first time!

We totally went overboard on his Easter basket but there were a few things I really wanted to get him and I just used Easter as an excuse. Each purchase was pretty well planned and we don’t really have any more gift giving opportunities for Ian until Christmas. That’s the result of having all the gift-giving occassions (Christmas, birthday and Easter) all within 3-4 months of each other.
-Cars ball: total impulse purchase, I admit it. 🙂
-Leap Frogs Word Wammer: $10 purchase that Ian loves as he LOVES letters….he’s not yet into spelling words but he’ll grow into that aspect of the toy.
-Numbers puzzle: Ian is really into wooden puzzles AND reading numbers so this was a hit….will work for a long time b/c he can only “read” 1-6. Should help him learn 0, 7-20.
-Stroller & diaper bag: Ian got a baby doll for his 2nd birthday (from Aunt Courtney) so that when the new baby arrives, he has a baby to take care of. We’re hoping having his own baby will help with jealousy issues. The stroller and diaper bag were ways to help him become more interested and understand a little bit better. We have been practicing being gentle and giving kisses. Sunday, he was giving the baby some “nilk” (milk) w/ the play bottles. And then there was about a 15-20 min period where he raced the stroller/baby around the house.
Funny, out of all the things we got him, the stroller was the biggest hit. I totally expected the ball to get all of the attention while the rest of the toys were ignored. Just goes to show, you never really know what they’re going to like!
We had Grammy and Papaw Jones over for breakfast Easter morning…then took naps. Then went to the Nowak’s for dinner. It was a really nice Easter!
I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A HAPPY EASTER!
Since I had Good Friday off from work, I took Ian to see the Easter Bunny today at the mall…with the assistance of Mom, Dad and Rachel.
Ian was okay with the experience until he was about 5-10 seconds into sitting on the bunny’s lap. He kinda turned around and looked up and then FREAKED OUT! Oh well….
I got ths picture from the very nice people at the mall. Mom got a “I’m ok with this” shot and a “Um, get me out of here” shot. I’ll share those if/when I get a copy.
Ian’s 2007 experience….as you can see, he enjoyed it MUCH more last year. 🙂
We took Ian to the monster “yuck” (truck) show that played downtown on the 16th. To say that he had a “good time” would probably be the understatement of the century.
He literally sat still for over 2 hours. Literally. To anyone with a toddler, this has got to be a world record. I don’t think he’s sat still that long in a 6 month period.
Ian was absolutely in love with the show. There was a ton of trucks. Trucks that did tricks. Trucks that raced fast. Trucks that were REALLY loud. And bikes too! Lots of bike tricks to watch.
Ian just kind of whispered “yuck” under his breath in awe….did “set! “DOE”!!!” when they were racing….said “bye bye ‘yucks'” and “‘dint doo'” when we left. It was so cute.
We’ll definitely have to go again!
Below are some pictures of our day….as usual, more pictures are posted on our shutterfly site!

Here are a few videos from the event!
Ian in heaven!
(please ignore the fact that I totally forgot the camera was turned the wrong way)
Some crazy bikes!!!
