In keeping with the “slow and lazy week” theme: week 7! Ian and Momma being lazy and watching Sunday morning cartoons and snuggling together.

I was really busy this week at work. I’m training my co-workers on my job so they aren’t completely lost while I’m gone on maternity leave. Between being 900 months pregnant and the constant training at work, I had no energy by 5:30pm. The result, lots of laziness and no fun stories to share. 🙂

I did run a few errands yesterday. While I was out, Mike took this picture of Ian:

We went back to the the childrens museum in Rochester today. The plan was to go because the weather was supposed to be bad. When we left the house it was sunny, 72 degrees and there was a slight breeze. Absolutely beautiful, it figures! (By the way, when we got back to Buffalo? It was windy, overcast and about 59 degrees!)

We realized, when I checked the museum website for directions this morning, that TODAY was openning weekend for the new Berenstain Bears exhibit!!! Very exciting for me because I grew up reading the Berenstain Bears books….I was so excited to go!

When we got there we headed right for the new exhibit. It was really cool. Lots of neat things for Ian to play on and with. They had the whole Bear family walking around visiting with guests, Mike Berenstain (BB co-creator) was there signing autographs, a DJ playing music and all sorts of other fun stuff to do in honor of the big weekend. We kept busy in the area for close to an hour. Ian even got to play with a museum employee while we were there. She helped him name colors and shapes in the quilting area….she thought it was pretty cute that he used “yellow” and “pink” as his defaults when he didn’t know the color she was holding up. 🙂

We explored other areas of the museum but mainly stayed in the areas we didn’t get to when we visited a few weeks ago. Ian was able to discover lots of new things to do and see.

We packed a lunch for the little guy and took our lunch “break” a little earlier than normal. Ian ate very well and managed to sample a little bit of everything that Daddy and I got from Taco Bell. 🙂

Afterward we went back to playing until Ian clearly needed a nap. When all was said and done, we got close to 3 and a half hours of good playtime before we had to head home. Can’t wait to go back again. The Berenstain Bears will be visiting museum guests every weekend throughout the month of May so we may try to fit in one more trip before the next baby arrives!

At my last appointment, the doctor asked whether I had seen all of the doctors in the practice. Having some great short term memory loss lately, I had no idea who I had or hadn’t seen. 🙂 The doctor quickly reviewed my file and informed me that there was only 1 I hadn’t seen. She made a note on my chart that I needed an appointment in two weeks and that it had to be with this doctor. When I scheduled the next appointment, there appeared to be a scheduling issue and I was told they “squeezed me in” for Tuesday April 22nd.

Sooooo, I get in today and get seen by this new-to-me doctor. The doctor seemed really rushed and didn’t spend a ton of time on small talk. Came in, asked if I had questions, answered my 1 question while finding the heartbeat, told me to pre-register for the hospital, come back in two weeks and was out the door. Unfortunately, because this was someone I hadn’t seen before, I didn’t have an overwhemingly warm fuzzy feeling but hey….what are the chances that this doctor delivers this baby? 🙂 Although, because I just “said” it, its a darn near guarantee, you know?

Anyway…

The baby’s heartbeat was 142. My weight, urine and blood pressure were all good.

By the way, my question was “when do the weekly appointments start?”…I start them at 36 weeks and they’ll begin doing internal exams at that point. She said they’ll make sure the baby is head-down at that point because she noticed that it was breech a few weeks ago.

So, that’s that! I go back in 2 weeks. 🙂
