It is flat out unfair that boys get the best eyelashes….

We went with Ian’s entire preschool to Kelkenberg Farm for a school-wide field trip and end of year picnic. The field trip consisted of a farm tour, tractor/hayride and pony ride.

Ian was super excited in the beginning. Particularly by the “I-A-N” on his nametag:

The first animal on the tour was a sheep:

We also saw a few pigs, a cow and some tiny baby chicks that Ian got to pet. He loved the chicks and darn near had to be dragged away from their little home:

Next, Ian saw a goat get milked. I’m not sure if he was horrified or just shocked. Either way, he stood like this for a good 3 minutes…mouth sort of hanging open. πŸ™‚

When asked, he was DAMN sure he didn’t want to participate in the milking. πŸ™‚

(by the way, Ian’s object of affection, Hailey, is the milker in that last shot)

Next we went to a different barn to see some horses and bunny rabbits. It’s at this point that things quickly went downhill. Ian did not understand why he couldn’t take his tractor ride RIGHT.THIS.SECOND.

He was able to be distracted for a bit…particularly when we went outside and saw some horses in a pasture.

And ducks.

Things went south FAST when Ian spied a giant, kick-ass sandbox. Here he is showing me where he’d like to go. NOW.

There were many tears and much screaming from Ian when we insisted we stay with our tour group.

After a tear-filled apology, we finally threw in the towel and let him roll around in the sand.

We begged him to go on the tractor ride but he refused. All we got was this stinking picture:

After all was said and done, we had fun. Just not exactly like we expected. Ian commented as we left the farm “that was sooo fun!!!!!” Mike and I just looked at each other in disbelief. haha

After we left the farm, we went to a park to let Ian play and to eat our picnic lunch. I decided to take some camera timer shots which amused the heck out of Ian. We ended up asking me to take more pictures 2 additional times. πŸ™‚

Mike and I did some “self-portraits”. πŸ™‚

All-in-all, it was a good time. Can’t wait to go back next year!

A full copy of the pictures have been uploaded on our shutterfly site. I know I’m 2 months behind on pictures but we’ve been busy remodeling. I’ll catch up very soon!

Yesterday, Ian didn’t have ANY accidents, had a dry pull-up at naptime AND went poop on the potty.

Today, Ian woke up with a wet pull-up but hasn’t had ANY accidents. And that includes a several hour field trip to a local farm for school. AND, when we got home, Ian pooped on the potty again!

Woo hoo!!!

Amanda on May 26th, 2009

HE POOPED ON THE POTTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a reward, he got 2 matchbox cars, 2 giant balloons and a Frosty from Wendy’s. Can you tell we were excited?!?!??!

I was out shopping when he pooped so Mike called me to give me the good news. Ian was so excited about what he had done that they had to call me a SECOND time to go over it all again. haha

Mike also took a picture of the poop in the potty but I’ll spare you that grossness. πŸ™‚

No accidents all day Monday. Still no poop. πŸ™
