July 16, 2004 was one of the best days of my life.
5 years ago, I walked down the aisle and married my best friend.
It seems impossible that it has already been 5 years.
We had a beautiful wedding and wonderful honeymoon….a perfect start to our life together.
Life has been so blessed since we’ve been together. I’ve never been more happy than I am now.
I am looking forward to many more wonderful years together.
Happy anniversary, Mike. I love you!
We have this big flower bed in our backyard underneath the dining room window. When we moved into the house in September 2005, our first outdoor project was to dig up this bed. We cut EVERYTHING in the bed down to the ground to try to kill whatever was growing there. And every single summer the plants grow big and tall.
Currently, we have little purple flowers blooming in the bed of ugliness. The purple flowers are pretty but they only hang around for a week or two. So the rest of summer, we’ve got knee-high, ugly, green leafy plants. You can kind of see them in the background of this picture. They’re very ugly and look overgrown and out of control in the bed.
Anyone know what this is? Is it a “real” plant? Or is it a flowering weed?
I’m thinking of renting some heavy duty gardening equipment in the fall or possibly in the spring and getting rid of all of the stuff in the bed. I’d pretty much rather have a bed full of dirt at this point.
We went to Niawanda Park Sunday after Matthew woke up from his afternoon nap. Ian and Mike played baseball and kicked a ball around while I sat with Matthew on a blanket near the water. After a while, we walked (Ian rode his bike) down to Mississippi Mudds and got some dinner and ice cream. It was a nice afternoon!
