We decided to take the boys to Rochester to play at Strong Museum. We have a family membership to the museum so we like to go several times a year. Yesterday was supposed to be super hot so we figured spending the day in the A/C in the car and in the museum was a good idea.

For the first time in a loooong time, we got tickets to go into the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden. Matthew loves “butt-byes” so we figured he’d really enjoy it. All of his previous visits to the Butterfly Garden had been as a newborn so it was a brand new experience for him.

I went in with him and was a little afraid my headstrong, independent, I-don’t-want-to-hold-hands, run-away-as-fast-as-I-can little guy would be a problem but he did REALLY awesome. He was absolutely fascinated. The other people in the garden really seemed to get a kick out of his reactions to everything he was seeing.

It’s kind of easy to miss some butterflies. This one blends in with the leaves:

After we left the Butterfly Garden, the boys were busy doing regular museum playing.

We love taking the boys to the Strong Museum. We’ll have to go back soon!

There will not be a picture today.

My life has descended into a constant state of insanity and by the time I get home from the place that keeps me in this constant state of insanity, I cannot bear the thought of sitting at the computer anymore.

When I get home, I’m DONE with the computer. DONE thinking. DONE using my brain. D-O-N-E. DONE. DONE. DONE.

I’m tired. I’m exhausted. I’m overwhelmed. I’m frustrated. I’m ticked off.

But most of all, I’m trying to spend time with the kids since I’m barely home any of the hours they’re actually awake.

This was the reason why the “Easter Bunny” brought the boys rain boots on Easter morning.

It was P-O-U-R-I-N-G after I left work tonight. I suggested to Mike that we should take the boys out to play in the rain after I got home. It was a warm summer rain with no thunder or lightening to worry about. Ian didn’t want to get wet at first but warmed up to the experience. We couldn’t have kept Matthew dry if we wanted to. 🙂

(Do you like how Matthew is licking the rain off his face? LOL)

It was a loooong 4 months to wait for this photo opportunity! 😉

We went to the Eden Corn Fest where Ian made sure to get his money worth out of the $20 “ride all day” bracelet (and yes we did get our money’s worth out of it). Both boys behaved AWESOME! Afterward, we went home for naps. After naptime, Mike’s parents and sister came over for dinner and to hang out. We had lots of fun today!
