Ian’s Kindergarten class had a concert and (kind of) open house in lieu of a traditional graduation ceremony.
Walking in with his class:

The last song totally made me tear up. Each child stood before the remaining students, waved good-bye, and walked off the stage alone. There was an entire class that went BEFORE Ian’s class but they let a little girl from his class go first before everyone because she cried each time they practiced the song. 🙁

Ian’s BFF and bus-riding-buddy waving good-bye. They aren’t in the same class this year and ride different buses. 🙁

Showing off his work in the classroom:

Ian with his Kindergarten teacher:

That last picture isn’t the best of him but we had to document how much he made off the tooth fairy! 😉
Ian’s school does a bike rodeo each spring where all the students bring their bikes to school and practice their skills on obstacles in the school parking lot. Each student is graded on their performance and the highest scoring student in each grade wins a prize. The bike rodeo is a great way to encourage bike safety/skills and encourage healthy exercise.
Ian was pretty much the only kid in his class that rode without training wheels and was at a disadvantage when they did scoring (they docked points for putting his feet on the ground and not staying within the lines). I was super proud of how he did – particularly when you consider he’d only been riding without training wheels for less than 2 weeks!

(EDIT: I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get videos to embed in my blog. I will figure it out some day but probably not this month. For now, gotta do it kind of old school. Sorry!)
He sure was happy about it too! 😉

Spent mini-golfing. 🙂

The boys were super pumped to take that last picture. 😉
