On a lovely Sunday morning in late July, Mike and Ian went golfing leaving me and Matthew to chill at home. When the boys got home, Mike decided to take our brand new mandolin vegetable slicer out of its packaging and test it out on a zucchini. 3 seconds later, Mike was bleeding profusely and missing two finger tips. A visit to the emergency care place nearby and some stitches took care of the bleeding finger tips but I’m pretty sure we’re never using the mandolin slicer again. LOL

Bandaging the fingers up:

I’m glad to report that his fingers healed nicely and are mostly back to normal.

This boy was a cranky puss all afternoon before heading to the Colombo’s. Not too shocking when this happened about 5 minutes from their house:

I was off exploring Ireland. I can’t believe it has been a year.

To escape the heat wave, we took the boys for a rare mid-week movie to see Monsters University. There were about 10 people in the theater. LOL

We liked the movie. It was super cute!
Or maybe I should have titled this “Kids Bowl to Escape the Heat”. 😉
We experienced a bit of a heat wave in July (prior to the A/C being put in the house) so when we got home from work and the living room was 88 degrees, we decided to grab dinner out and head to the bowling alley for some free bowling.
The boys were terribly unhappy about going bowling, as you can see. 😉

Matthew almost got a strike on his first frame!
