Easy Bake Oven
(He made a cheese pizza!)

Just about to put it in the oven!

Super excited to taste the finished pizza!

He loved it!

We had our annual bingo game after Christmas and Mike and I pretty much gave our money away to everyone else. LOL
Andrew slept over at our house a couple of times around Christmas. We had movie night and watched Smurfs 2, ate popcorn, and munched on M&Ms and cookies. Everyone had a great time!

CHRISTMAS EVE
We spent Christmas Eve with the Samulskis this year.

Later that morning, my side of the family came over for presents and lunch.

Matthew got a cat bed for all of his furry friends. He LOVED it. LOL

Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal shirts. LOL

We found this in Matthew’s room when we checked on him before bed that night. He had covered his cats up with a blanket in the cat bed. LOL

A few days before Christmas, we had a nasty storm come through the area with heavy rain and high winds. Around 2am-ish, I woke up at the sound of a nearby power line/transformer blowing which resulted in us losing power. In our half asleep haze, Mike told me to set the alarm for an hour and he’d go down to check the sump pump in the basement (and bail water if necessary). After an hour was up, Mike went down and we had about 3 inches of standing water all throughout the basement. We immediately called my parents and asked if we could borrow their generator to get the sump pump working to drain the basement of water. All-in-all, we were without power for 13 long, cold hours. I took the boys to my parents house to stay warm while Mike did a mass cleaning and purge of our basement.

Thankfully, the following day was garbage day so we were quickly able to get rid of everything we lost:

Overall, we were lucky. We didn’t lose anything too precious. After 6 weeks, the only thing we seem to miss is the carpet remnant and padding that we had downstairs. During the flood they completely soaked up the water and immediately needed trashed. Unfortunately, sitting at the desk in the basement is much less comfortable with the super cold concrete floor underfoot.
