Just in the nick of time!

April or May-ish of 2007

I think Ian was about 15 months old here…he was watching the JoJo’s Circus DVD that we had gotten him for Easter.

I took a camera to a discount movie theater to document Ian’s first movie theater experience. 🙂

Heading in…he was yelling “It’s almost time!”:

Getting some concessions (we almost lost him to the car video games at this point):

We took Ian to see the “Super Dog” movie…or, Bolt, to the rest of us. He did really awesome. Sat and watched the movie like a big boy. Hardly talked. Was a little touch and go at the end when he was getting antsy and decided he wanted the mini-blankie (which we had left at home). But settled right down and finished the movie out without any problems!

Can’t wait to take him again!!!

that we had sponsored a little girl from El Salvador.

Since we adopted her, we’ve gotten some communications back from the agency that manages the process. Mostly informational items to educate us on how the program works, how our money is spent, and what benefits our sponsor child receive.

They also sent us a form to fill out with more information on our family and home-life. I filled it out and put in a picture of us as well as a few sheets of rainbow stickers for Mirian to enjoy.

This past week, we actually received our first communication back from her.

Below is a letter written in Spanish and translated into English as well as a picture that was colored for us by Mirian. 🙂

We can’t wait to get more mail and follow Mirian’s progress as she grows up.

We really didn’t do much of anything yesterday…just stayed in and had a nice relaxing day.

I realized fairly late in the day that I hadn’t taken ANY pictures of Matthew’s first Valentine’s Day (**gasp**) so I got the camera out to snap a few pictures.

His shirt reads “Mom’s Little Sweet Heart”

Admiring ourselves in the mirror after the Great Napping Sitting Up In The Crib Ordeal of 2009.

🙂

Still not happy to be awake but willing to love mommy and look in the mirror.
