While we were at Lowes, we picked up the shutters that we had ordered. After naptime was over, Mike put them up with the assistance of Papaw.
I’m not afraid to admit, I didn’t like seeing Mike up on the roof. Particularly since I know he’s not a big fan of heights! He sucked it up and did great up there!
It’s truly amazing how much of a difference a roof and new shutters make!
The first task on the list for Saturday was putting trim and baseboards up in the family room. We started the remodel of this room in 2005 (yes, 4 years ago) and we decided to finally finish it up. It’s exciting to finally get this nightmare of a room completed!
After a not-so-quick trip to Lowes, Mike and his dad spent the morning measuring, cutting and nailing trim and baseboards.
The garage was their temporary workshop.
While Mike and his dad worked on the family room, Ian and Grandma played.
Somehow Matthew slept through all the chaos and had to be woken up after a two hour nap. After he woke up, he and I played outside a bit.
Jackie stopped over when she got out of work and the guys took a break for some lunch.
After lunch was done, the guys went back to work on the family room.
Work continued until Matthew couldn’t hold out any longer for an afternoon nap! We’re about 95% done putting up trim. Just 3 pieces or so to go and then we can start painting them!
THANK YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA SAMULSKI!!!!
We had a big home improvement day today and a bunch of pictures are coming for that. But instead of playing with pictures, I’m going to be lazy and hang out with Mike and watch some TV!
In the meantime, here are pictures of Matthew with Mom and Dad tonight. They came over to give Mike a hand with the new shutters!
