If you were planning to buy gifts for Ian for his upcoming birthday, here is a list of stuff he’d really love to have:
Movies:
–BOLT – I checked this out of the library and he’s watched it about 40x. He’s going to miss it when it gets returned to the library.
–Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Books:
We bought Ian a Tag reading system and a book to go along with it. There were several other books that we felt he’d enjoy such as:
–Dora the Explorer
–Go Diego Go
–Cars
–I Spy
–Sponge Bob Square Pants
Ian is pretty interested in learning to read and enjoys Level 1/ pre-reader books that you can find at Target, Walmart and Toys R Us. We already have the Cars and Toy Story books.
Leapster Games:
–Dora the Explorer
–I Spy (I think there are a couple, the “younger” one would be best.)
–Mr Pencil’s Learn to Draw and Write
Clothing:
Ian is currently wearing clothing in the boys section (XS sizes at Old Navy and S size at Target). Typically, he’s wearing the next size up from 5T.
Hope this helps anyone who might be looking for suggestions!
I bought “Santa” brought Ian Chutes and Ladders and Memory for Christmas in 2008. The games have largely sat unused in the playroom. Periodically Ian would get out the Memory game but he never was interested in Chutes and Ladders. Or, he wasn’t interested until this weekend. 🙂
He and Mike played the game for the first time on Saturday and since, it has been played close to a dozen times. Ian will even resort to playing by himself if he can’t get someone to play with him.
Of course, I had to take pictures when we all sat down to play during Matthew’s nap on Saturday. 🙂
Photo break in the middle of the game:
(What’s up with the blue hair?)
Moving his piece around the board:
Totally out of focus but I love that I caught Ian celebrating by doing the “YES!” fist pump:
