I want to apologize in advance. I’m not going to be doing too much blogging in the next month or so. We’re doing a H-U-G-E software install at work. HUGE.
This install is resulting in me spending a good portion of my day died up in training and implementation meetings. And after all those meetings are done? Well, I actually have to get my job done. Needless to say, once I get home from work, I’m not really interested in doing much blogging. I’m not really interested in doing anything but sleeping. LOL It’s honestly getting to be a challenge to remember to take 1 picture a day.
We’re scheduled to “go live” on the software over Mother’s Day weekend. I’ll pretty much be living at work that entire weekend and the following few weeks as we work out all the kinks and learn to use the software on a day-to-day basis. I expect it to be a bit ugly. Particularly when you factor in the part where most of my department is supposed to be out of town for work conferences about 10 days later. (Timing is everything, isn’t it?)
At this point, my eyes are firmly focused on Memorial Day weekend and a short vacation we’re taking to see the Alts in VA. I know I’ll get through it but it’s not going to be a fun ride.
There will be blog posts but not many. Sorry!
Today was a “Sunbeam Sunday” day in church where the preschoolers sing in the service. Since the church doesn’t have childcare during the 8AM service, we asked Mike’s family to come along to help us wrangle Matthew. Ian did an AWESOME job singing and did really well at being quiet for the remainder of the service. He only needed a few reminders to lower his voice.
We pulled in the parking lot and Ian screamed, “LOOK! IT’S MY CROSS!!!” I decided I should take a picture of him under it since he looked so handsome today.
The sun was in his eyes. LOL
(Last night, Mike decided to take extra care to get everyone’s outfits ready for church today. We tend to rush around in the morning and wanted to be extra prepared so he ironed everything and set it out so that it was all ready to go. We’re getting ready and Mike is kind of stressing about the time. We were actually ahead of schedule so I told him to chill a bit. With 5 minutes (FIVE MINUTES!!!) to go before we need to leave, Ian dumps an entire container of yogurt smoothie (a milky, yogurty drink) all over himself, the coffee table and floor. Of course, everyone is freaking out about it. I managed to use a Shout wipe to clean up his tie, then we changed his pants and wiped off his shirt the best we could. He ended up looking presentable and you couldn’t really see the dirty spots on his shirt unless you were looking for it. Gotta love a crisis at the last minute!)
Here are a few videos from the service:
Walking in to “Jesus Loves Me”:
(Ian is in the purple shirt, in the front row of the kids, to the left of the aisle. Kind of lined up with the candle, on the left, at the altar.)
“Ho Ho Ho Hosanna” (aka the “laughing song”):
“Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam” (aka the song none of the kids knew)
This is, hands-down, one of my most favorite pictures of Ian. It was one of those rare moments where he was in a good mood, willing to look at the camera and my settings were actually set correctly! 😉
And can you BELIEVE these eyes?!?! Gorgeous!
